
Political DonationsDisclosure of Political Donations and Electoral ExpenditureThe Local Government and Planning legislation requires any applicant for a Development Application (DA) or an application to modify a Development Consent, or any person making a written submission on a Development Application, at the time of lodging these documents, to disclose any reportable political donation or gift within the period commencing two (2) years before the DA or submission is made and ending when the DA is determined. A reportable political donation is a donation of $1000 or more made to or for the benefit of a party, elected member, group or candidate of Council, and includes donations of less than $1000 if the aggregated total of donations is more than $1000. A more complete definition is defined in Part 6 of the Election Funding and Disclosures Act, 1981. A Disclosure Statement has been development and is available for download from this website by clicking this link or from Council's Customer Service Counters and Narellan and Camden Offices. Council is also requried to make available to the public any such Disclosure Statements within fourteen (14) days after the disclosure is made. Accordingly, a register of Disclosure Statements is available for inspection by contacting Council's Customer Service Counters at Narellan and Camden officers during normal business hours. Councillor RequirementsAll Councillors have an ongoing six (6) monthly obligation under the Election Funding and Disclosures Act, 1981 to lodge a Declaration of Political Donations Received and Electoral Expenditure Incurred during the disclosure period. Recording of Councillor Voting on Planning DecisionsCouncil maintains a Register of voting on all planning decisions which records how Councillors voted for and against each planning decision.
