The Camden Chamber of Commerce are inviting everyone to come down to Argyle Street, Camden on Thursday 17 November 2011 to celebrate the turning on of the Christmas tree lights and the start of the festive season.

Argyle Street, closed from 4.30pm, will be decked out in red and green stalls, entertainment, rides and more! The festival will include stalls, a range of entertainment including singing, dancing and roving and of course Santa will be there taking all your Christmas wishes!

There is also a designated area along Argyle St (McDonalds end) for young people to participate in a range of activities. These activities have been organised by Youth Solutions in partnership with Camden Council, Camden Community Connections and LifeHouse.

Activities will include local bands Beyond Gravity and Southdown as well as a FREE Mechanical Bull, performances and workshops from hip-hop group, Kulture Break and heaps more! Once dark falls, the Mayor of Camden will flick the switch and the lights on the spectacular Christmas tree will light up Argyle Street. The evening will end at approx 9pm with fireworks at St John's Church.

So get into the festive season, come down to Argyle Street and celebrate the beginning of Christmas in Camden!

Please note: Silly string is BANNED with Police and Council Rangers issuing fines if necessary, so please leave them at home this year.
