
Flood InformationThe Nepean River, South Creek, tributaries thereof and associated floodplains are a predominant feature of the Camden Local Government Area. Flooding along these waterways impacts upon properties within the floodplain to varying degrees. General information with respect to flooding can be obtained from Council’s Engineering Section; flooding maps are also available for inspection by the public. Detailed flood information relevant to specific properties can also be obtained by downloading the Flood Information Application Form below and mailing the completed form to Council with the applicable fee. Your request will be replied to promptly. Upper South Creek Revised Flood Study Report 2011The State Government requires that Council's undertake periodic review of flood studies, particularly when urbanisation and land use trends are changing. As the Upper South Creek Catchment is located within the South West Growth Centre and will experience significant redevelopment in the upcoming years, Council engaged WMAWater who is a specialist consultant in floodplain management to review and update the flood study. Until now, Camden Council has applied the Flood Study of South Creek prepared by the Department of Water Resources in 1991 for flood levels. The Revised Flood Study was adopted by Council on 8 November 2011, and we are now advising the community of the changes and the new and improved information that is available. Shortly Council will be undertaking the Flood Risk Management Study and Plan for Upper South Creek Catchment based on the Revised Flood Study as required by the State Government. The Flood Risk Management Study and Plan will assess the impact of the flood study on properties and identify ways of minimising potential impacts on properties This Flood Risk Management Study and Plan will be conducted in consultation with Flood Risk Management Committee, (yet to be formed). This committee will be made up of representatives from Council, community groups and state agency specialists.
