
Australia Day in CamdenBrand NEW Program for Australia Day in Camden 2012"Aussie Aussie Aussie" will echo through the streets of Camden this Australia Day when the Camden community come together to celebrate our national day of pride and the Australia Spirit. Camden Council and the Australia Day Committee have organised this year's celebrations and are excited to announce the new program. The day's activities will be held at Onslow Oval, Camden starting at 8am with the Australia Day Thanksgiving Service. From 8.30am enjoy a range of FREE activities including face painting, jumping castles, animal farm, clowns, environment workshops by Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living, Crocodile Encounters, the McDonalds Thong Throwing Competition, markets and much more! Aussie Cover Band, Mad Rhino will be back again this year singing all your favourite Aussie hits from Shannon Knoll to AC/DC. Join us for the Official Ceremony at 10am and welcome our newest citizens with the Citizenship Ceremony followed by the Civic Awards and the Australia Day Ambassador address. At the conclusion of the Official Ceremony make your way to Argyle Street, Camden and create a sea of red, blue, green and gold and wave your Australian flag in anticipation of the Macarthur Lions Street Parade to begin The highlight of the event, The Macarthur Lions Street Parade attracts thousands of people to Argyle Street, Camden as they cheer on a range of floats, community groups and displays. It's going to be a fantastic day out and Camden Council would like to thank both Camden and Macarthur Lions Clubs who volunteer their time to help organise these celebrations.
